Workcation, the concept of combining work and vacation, has become not only increasingly popular but also an essential requirement for talents when choosing an employer (especially with Millennials and Gen Z generations). Companies have to meet the expectation of flexibility to be attractive to hold their current employees as well as attract new talents.

But why is Workcation so popular?

The hybrid working model offers numerous benefits for employees, like:

➕Increased productivity
➕Improved work-life balance
➕Improved mental health
➕Reduced stress
➕Increased creativity
➕More time with family members, friends or partners
➕Cost savings when traveling

But Workcation does not only benefit your team but also you, the employer. Besides increased productivity and creativity, through a flexible work model one can also notice employees show:

➕Increased engagement and satisfaction
➕Increased resilience
➕Improved organizational performance

So as you can see, allowing your team to balance work and play has many advantages for you and your employees.

But what about the risks involved when allowing workcationing? Or the numerous fiscal and legal implications that come with it?

We will address these questions in Part 2 of the series. There you will find out how you can manage these risks and we show you an example how we at neylux implemented Workcation into our process and how you can do it as well.
